A.F.I. is a network of interrelated churches and ministries built on Christ’s headship, committed  relationships, equipping people for ministry, and apostolic and prophetic covering.  We are related to the Apostolic Church, a worldwide, Trinitarian network of churches that has its roots in the Welsh Revival of 1904.  See www.apostolicworld.com In the early 1980’s, the Apostolic Church of Australia committed resources to help begin the work in the United States. The faith of the Australian Church was honored as God expanded the work in the United States by adding new churches and raising up men with ascension gifts. By January 1984, the Australian Church released the ministry in the United States to full autonomy. The Purpose of AFI We see that one key to the success of the early church was the presence and operation of the ascension gift ministries: apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers (Ephesians 4.11). Over the centuries, the truth of Christ’s gifts to the church was largely lost. In our day, God is restoring the ascension ministries to the church. The purpose of the ascension ministries, according to Ephesians 4, is to train believers for the work of ministry so that the Body might build itself up and grow to maturity.
